Leading Children and Family In-Home Therapy in Sacramento County

As part of Traditional Therapy at Brick Road Counseling, we employ talk therapy using evidence-based Dialectical Behavior Therapy (i.e., “DBT”), relational therapy, and family systems therapy.

Psychotherapy …[includes] any psychological service provided by a trained professional that primarily uses forms of communication and interaction to assess, diagnose, and treat dysfunctional emotional reactions, ways of thinking, and behavior patterns. Psychotherapy may be provided to individuals, couples, families, or members of a group.  There are many types of psychotherapy, but generally they fall into four major categories: psychodynamic psychotherapy, cognitive therapy or behavior therapy, humanistic therapy, and integrative psychotherapy.”  American Psychological Association, Dictionary of Psychology (2021).

Our traditional counseling, offered in an in-home setting, supports caregivers experiencing stress, postpartum depression and anxiety as a subset of an overarching Family Counseling treatment schedule.  We understand that as a parent, childcare can be an extreme obstacle, and can undoubtedly create more stress when trying to secure therapy.

With our in-home model, we come to your home space to ease the burden of treating:

  • Anxiety
  • Depression
  • Trauma
  • Life-Stage Transitions
  • Post-Partum

We also offer HIPAA compliant virtual office sessions (similar to Zoom) over your phone or computer for parenting support.

Let's Talk

The first step in therapy is talking. Let's find a time where we can meet and talk about what's on your mind.
